Brian Young, Professional Career Consultant
Brian Young grew up on a small family farm in western Iowa and learned early in his life the value of hard work and the blood, sweat, and tears that go into earning an honest dollar.
After acquiring his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa (graduating cum laude) in 2000, he went on to earn his M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Emporia State University in 2006.
Brian worked as a Recruiter in the Saint Louis metro area for over 15 years in various fields and industries.
He began by recruiting salespeople for The Mobile Solution, an authorized dealer of T-Mobile and AT&T.
Later, he recruited for the financial services firm Edward Jones, assisting in the hiring of branch office staff in the western U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom.
He also recruited for Pinnacle Entertainment, the owner of numerous gaming and hospitality facilities throughout the U.S. Here he was part of the ramp-up of River City Casino and Hotel, helping hire 1,200 employees and managers in the months leading up to its grand opening, and was then reassigned to Lumiere Place Casino and Hotels.
His last Recruiter role was with Charter Spectrum, a powerhouse in cable and Internet services, where he recruited Operations and IT personnel for the Spectrum Reach (ad sales) division of the company.
Having read tens of thousands of resumes and conducted thousands of interviews, Brian discovered that many people who are looking for work or trying to start their careers are being hindered by their struggle to market and sell themselves persuasively and confidently. Because of his experience and knowledge of the labor market, he is uniquely qualified to make his customers' jobs or career searches more satisfying and successful.
